I am a native and lifelong resident of Harrison County. I met my wife of 43 years, Dwyla Florence Garnett in first grade at Connersville school. We have two children Christine Garnett and Luke Garnett. Luke married Katie and they blessed us with our grandson, Maxwell Allen Garnett. 

 

I live in Leesburg on the family farm where I grew up. We still operate a small cattle farm. My family began operating the Leesburg Grocery in 1967.  In 1986, Dwyla and I purchase the store and continued to own and operate it for many years. Other businesses we have owned and operated include Concrete Technology Inc. and NHance wood renewal. Over the last six years, my wife and I have purchased neglected houses and rehabilitated them. I am proud that most of the renovated homes were purchased by first time home buyers. 

 

My experience serving Harrison County includes working as a Deputy Sheriff and Recreation Director.   My work experience also includes seventeen years with Farmer’s National Bank and 5/3 Bank in Cynthiana. Many of my years have been spent with WCYN Radio, and I still enjoy filling in on the local station from time to time.  I currently enjoy assistant coaching softball and serving as a high school and college softball umpire.

 

I love this community and wish for everyone else to love it as much as I do. If elected as your Magistrate, everything I will do will be focused on making Harrison County the best place to live in Kentucky.
